THE FARCE AWAKENS or ‘Three Years in a Shed'

"When I'm calling you-ooo-ooo!"
Pavo and Neil as Hinge and Bracket
On Saturday 2nd April, Neil Marlarkey and Carl ‘Pavo’ Pawlowski will be hosting ‘The Farce Awakens’, an evening of music and comedy to celebrate the third anniversary of their popular podcast Live@TheShed, at the Barn Theatre in Beeches Road.

Acts include Kirsty Clinch, in Pavo’s words “an amazing singer/songwriter”, Rob Richings who has just returned from Australia where he recorded his first album, pianist Emi McDade, stand-up comedian Becky Brumming and local legend Aren E. Elvis Tribute.

Neil and Pavo began broadcasting Live@TheShed in 2013; the very first podcast was a discussion about the film ‘An American Werewolf in London’. This was followed by interviews with none other than Keith Chegwin (fully clothed, thank goodness!) and, via Skype, Kevin Godley of 10cc. Musicians who featured in those early days of the series included local guitarist John Parker and Marcella Detroit from Shakespeare’s Sister. Since then they have expanded their repertoire to include topics as varied as films, food and classic TV series such as Blackadder and Fawlty Towers. Their appeal stretches far and wide, with a large following in the USA in particular. They even have listeners in Russia and Iran.

Download the Live@TheShed app from iTunes or visit their website www.pancast.co.uk  and follow this anarchic pair, who admit that they haven’t laughed so much in years and genuinely love what they are doing.

Tickets for ‘The Farce Awakens’ are £7.50 from pancast@live.com. Doors open at 6.30.
